What is Aztlan?

Aztlan is the ancestral homeland of the Mexica nation. Aztlan is revered by the Mexica nation the same way the "Black Hills" are revered by the Lakota.

Since the Mexica were a migratory people, it is best to view Aztlan as a vast geographical area (again, just like the Black Hills). Some academics have claimed to have located the precise location of Aztlan. However, as archeology goes, these claims have yet to be independently confirmed. The video below shows stone maps made by the Mexica people that show the route they took from Aztlan to Tenochtitlan.

Aztlan is no more a "myth" than Jamestown, the first English colony in No. America, is. It is also important to remember that "history" and "archeology" are two very different disciplines. Academic References: http://www.famsi.org/listinfo.html http://www.arqueomex.com/S2N3nTIRA81.html

What is Reconquista?

Strictly speaking, "Reconquista" is the re-conquest of Moorish lands by the unified Christian forces of Spain. Reconquista is used as a scare tactic by xenophobes, nativists and racists to spread fear of Mexican and or Meso-American migration in No. America. While the American government has occupied the "So. West" for 160 years, the descendants of the Mexica, "Meso-American" and "Nican Tlaca" people have migrated to and fro for the past 20,000 years.

What is "Hispanic?"

Hispanics are people from Spain. Most Mexicans haven't had a Spanish ancestor in 200,300,400 or even 500 years. 45% of Mexicans have NEVER had a Spanish ancestor at all.

What is "Latino?"

The name "Latino" was brought to Mexico by the French during their occupation. The French, led by Napoleon's brother-in-law, Maximilian, told the Mexican people that the reason they couldn't got along with the Spanish was because they weren't like the Spanish. Instead, the French insisted, that Mexicans were more like them - the French - who called themselves Latinos.

It is also important to note that there were less than 35,000 French "Latinos" in Mexico during their 5 year occupation. While there were easily more that 40 MILLION Native Indigenous MEXICANS during the same period.

Hispanic and Latino exemplify the power of colonization and ethnocide, but that is all.

In spite of all attempts by the Europeans to de-indianize us, they do not change what we are.

Now let me ask you, are the Sioux Latinos? Are the Lakota Anglics?

Mexicans are neither Hispanic, French or Latino.

There are, however, many Europeans living in Mexico, including French and Spanish. However, in Mexico, these people constitute less than 8% of the population.

Additionally, it should be acknowledged that the terms "Latino" or "Hispano" refer to people that speak a "Latin" language, such as Spanish, French or Portuguese.

What is Mestizo?

Mestizo is a term used to "de-Indianize" the Mexican people. Every Mestizo is one less "Indian" for the European ruled government of Mexico to worry about.

Mestizo has the same pejorative and derisive meanings as the words "negro" and "sambo" do.

What is La Raza?

"La Raza" means "The People." It does not mean "The Race." "La Raza Cosmica" is a racist term contrived by a Criollo named José Vasconcelos around 1925. As such, it is a relatively new term. Vasconcelos' premise was that injecting Spanish blood, presumably through rape, into the native American population of Mexico, would make them (us) "better."
